The Opportunity

Reporting to the Supply & Logistics Manager, you willl play a pivotal role in developing and executing strategic category and contract management initiatives for mining projects across all Stanmore assets. You will be instrumental in improving and securing the supply chain, mitigating risks, and unlocking significant cost savings to deliver a competitive edge for the organisation.

Based in Brisbane, this senior position offers a chance to mentor and truly influence outcomes within a flexible, collaborative, and high-performing team. With opportunities across a number of strategic categories, this role will support a growing team with tasks related to procurement, contracts, commercial and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive category management strategies across all assets for both opex and capex category requirements.
• Deliver commercial value and supply security across critical operational categories and spend areas.
• Develop category plans and ensure seamless contract execution, with a strong understanding of legal terms related to procurement and supply agreements.
• Analyse market developments, spend trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement and savings.
• Develop sourcing strategies and engaging industry through source to award requirements in accordance with procurement procedure and contract lifecycle framework, demonstrating influential negotiation and problem solving abilities.
• Work closely with key stakeholders to design product groups that maximize value, enhance customer offerings, and streamline how products are delivered to the market.
• Provide strategic guidance to stakeholders, helping shape effective sourcing strategies to drive business success and procurement service excellence.
• Create and execute work plans and schedules, accounting for strategic business direction, procurement process and degree of workload intensity.
• Support internal governance, approvals, risk and compliance standards.
  
  

What You Bring

• Proven 10yr minimum experience in a category management, contracts management or senior procurement specialist role in mining, resources or heavy industry sectors.
• Bachelor level of commercial related tertiary qualification (commerce, law, supply chain or equivalent).
• Strong communication skills and abillity to build report with stakeholders of all levels including supplier relationship management.
• In-depth knowledge of contract law, legislative requirements associated with procurement processes, with the ability to negotiate and interpret complex contractual terms.
• A strong track record of negotiating, executing and managing complex high value high risk contracts with competing priorities, and delivering to deadlines under pressure.
• Good understanding and experience with SAP.
