ABOUT US

NT Shelter is the peak body for homelessness and affordable housing in the Northern Territory. Our vision is for appropriate and affordable housing for ALL people in the Northern Territory. NT Shelter staff are based in Darwin and Alice Springs, but we maintain a strong focus on the regions, advocating for better housing outcomes across the Northern Territory.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the NT Shelter Chief Executive Officer, the CHIA NT Executive Officer is responsible for delivery of project activities and outcomes associated with NT Shelter's grant with the Northern Territory Government for the delivery of services in relation to the Community Housing Industry Association Northern Territory (CHIA NT).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Promote and engage the government and other key stakeholders in the delivery of the Industry Development Plan (IDP) for the registered community housing sector in the Northern Territory.
  2. In conjunction with CHIA NT members and key stakeholders, coordinate and drive initiatives and projects that further develop and implement priority action areas identified under the IDP, including but not limited to:

    6. Operational tools that the sector can utilise.
    7. Delivering a plan that has been consulted with stakeholders – which forms up longer-term options for CHIA NT, which will be cost-effective and is complementary to the functions of other Peaks.
  3. Develop project scope and deliverables for the use of a consultant(s) to assist with project deliverables, as agreed with CHIA NT members and other key stakeholders. Project manage effectively in order to ensure outcomes are successfully delivered on time and within budget.
