Overview

Join to apply for the Assistant Project Officer role at NSW Health. This is an ongoing opportunity with the Centre for Population Health at the Ministry of Health, aimed at shaping the future of health in New South Wales.

The Centre for Population Health (CPH) works to promote health and prevent morbidity and mortality caused by modifiable risk factors, with portfolios including blood borne viruses, sexual health, tobacco and obesity. The CPH collaborates with Local Health Districts to support the local delivery of policies, programs and services across the state.

The Population Health Policy and Engagement Branch leads statewide efforts to promote healthy eating and active living, while the Data and Evaluation Team conducts research and evaluation to support strategic priorities and reports on population health indicators.

What You'll Be Doing

The Assistant Project Officer, Data & Evaluation supports coordination and provides project support and advice on monitoring, research and evaluation aspects of chronic disease prevention programs and initiatives managed by the Centre for Population Health.

About You

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

  • Sound experience and skills in health promotion and preventive health program management.
  • Qualifications or experience in public health and/or a related discipline such as nutrition or physical activity.
  • Sound knowledge of obesity, chronic disease prevention, management of conditions through healthy lifestyle factors and health promotion issues across the lifespan.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in data analysis (quantitative analysis skills would be an advantage).
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, the capacity to successfully complete several tasks concurrently and to achieve competing deadlines.
  • Effective oral, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare complex reports and submissions, which include reporting data.
  • Ability to work independently, flexibly and effectively across program areas within the Centre.
What You'll Be Paid

Crown Clerk 5/6, starting salary from $99,938 - $110,271 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.
