About The Role

Ford Australia is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) to join their executive leadership team. This is a critical and influential role responsible for leading the overall financial strategy, governance, and performance of the ANZ National Sales Company.

Appointed to the Board of Directors, the CFO holds significant statutory and legal responsibilities and plays a key role in shaping both product development decisions and overall corporate strategy. Reporting to the International Markets CFO, the role acts as a strategic advisor to the ANZ executive team, driving financial discipline, leading cross-functional planning, and providing essential data-driven insights in a dynamic market.

The position requires comprehensive oversight of all finance functions, including financial planning & analysis, accounting, reporting, compliance, cash management, and risk mitigation. The CFO will also foster strong business partnerships across the organisation to support profitable growth and operational efficiency, while leading and developing a team of approximately 30 finance professionals, including 8 direct reports. Ford is seeking a true leader with strong commercial acumen, relationship-building skills, and motivation to drive transformation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic financial leadership for ANZ, developing and executing strategy aligned with global objectives, and acting as a key advisor to the executive team on performance, risk, and strategy.
  • Partner effectively with cross-functional teams to provide financial expertise and insights that drive profitable growth, operational efficiency, and support key commercial initiatives and investments.
  • Drive the transformation of the finance function into a proactive, insight-led business partner.
  • Lead and oversee robust financial planning cycles, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range strategic planning, supported by in-depth analysis and modeling to drive performance and commercial decisions.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reporting (IFRS/local GAAP), maintain strong internal controls, and guarantee comprehensive compliance with all statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Optimize working capital, manage funding requirements, and proactively identify and mitigate financial, operational, and compliance risks.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, cultivating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and championing digitalization within the function.

About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline. A Master's degree or MBA is highly preferred.
  • Possession of a CPA, CA, or equivalent internationally recognized professional accounting qualification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive senior finance leadership experience, ideally gained within a multinational organization or the automotive/OEM sector.
  • Demonstrated experience leading finance operations across multiple countries, with a deep understanding of the regulatory and compliance environments in both Australia and New Zealand.
  • Deep technical knowledge and practical experience with major financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent Tier 1 ERP), forecasting tools, automation (AI) and data analytics platforms.
  • Ability to effectively navigate and thrive within complex global enterprise environments, leveraging organizational scale.
  • Demonstrated strategic, empowering, and hands-on leadership style, with the ability to translate strategy into successful execution and build high-performing teams.
  • Proven ability to build deep, influential relationships and collaborate effectively across diverse internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives.
  • Strong commercial instincts and sharp analytical skills, utilizing data and financial planning to identify opportunities and drive profitable outcomes.
