Clinical Nurse - Ophthalmology Outpatient Unit at Princess Alexandra Hospital, part of Metro South Health. We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to join the Ophthalmology Outpatient Unit and support frontline staff in delivering exceptional healthcare.
Responsibilities- Provide advanced clinical assessment, care planning, and specialist ophthalmology nursing to patients with complex needs.
- Work autonomously while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence-based, person-centred care.
- Provide clinical leadership, education, and support to colleagues, students, and junior staff to foster a learning culture.
- Contribute to quality improvement, research, and service development initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and care standards.
- Be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
- Dynamic, patient-focused nursing professional with specialist expertise in ophthalmology or a strong interest in developing in this field.
- Demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in patient care.
- Show strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills to support safe, collaborative service delivery.
- Commitment to professional development, quality improvement, and contributing to innovation in ophthalmology care.
- Hold a postgraduate qualification or be currently enrolled in a postgraduate program in a relevant area (highly desirable).
