Keolis Downer is the proud operator of Newcastle Transport. We deliver a multimodal public transport solution for Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, integrating buses, ferries, light rail and on demand services to create a more liveable city.

As a Heavy Vehicle Automotive Electrical Apprentice, you will work closely with qualified tradespersons repairing and maintaining these premium vehicles. Whilst developing your 'On-The-Job' skills, you will also have the opportunity to further your industry knowledge by attending industry specific training schools.

You'll be surrounded by an awesome crew to support you and be part of a large apprentice and trainee community, plus get your practical experience working on site with our Automotive partnerwhilst studying to complete your Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology Apprenticeship.

What you'll do

Inspectdefective equipment and diagnose malfunctions using the appropriate test instruments

Disassembleand overhaulvarious components

Reconditionand replaceparts

Repairand maintainautomotive electrical and mechanical equipment

Readjob orders and observe operating equipment to determine faults

Undertakepreventative maintenance

Complywith pre-determined maintenance schedules

Maintaina clean and tidy work space at all times

Adhereto safe working practices at all times

The desire to become a skilled and qualified professional in their respective automotive field

Valid drivers licence is essential
