About the Role

As an Australian Defence Force partner, Ventia works across some of Australia's newest, most unique equipment including surveillance systems, marine craft, light armoured vehicles, and protected mobility vehicles.

Based in Townsville, you will be responsible to drive maintenance efficiency and operational readiness for the ADF, ensuring Defence assets are mission-ready. You will achieve this through empowering our trades and support teams at Lavarack and Ross Island Barracks.

Rostered hours of 7am – 4:30pm Monday to Thursday, and 7am - 12pm on Fridays.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to –

  • Enabling a safety focussed team environment,
  • Maintaining quality standards in our workshops and office spaces
  • Managing the team to achieve optimum productivity
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative and trusted working relationships with our client; your team and peers
  • Coordinate activities for best outcomes for defence
  • Identify and assist in the execution of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Developing the team to ensure capability
  • Supporting and implementing change initiatives
  • Reviewing and interpreting data to inform decisions and highlight risks
Required Skills and Experience
  • Proven leader in a technical environment
  • Trade qualification or maintenance experience is advantageous
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills that foster trust and collaboration.
  • Confident decision making supported by clear rationale
  • Valid Driver's licence
  • You must be an Australian Citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance
