Hays Recruitment are pleased to represent an established civil construction business with the recruitment of a Site Engineer. Their commitment to safety, communication, and high-quality work forms the foundation of their success. Due to exciting projected work, they are currently seeking an experienced and self-motivated Site Engineer to join their dedicated team. This is a permanent vacancy based out of Townsville.

Your new role

Your new role will be hands-on, diverse and rewarding. As an on-site Civil Site Engineer, you'll attend site meetings, engage in quality assurance processes, and manage progress reports. You'll define project specifications, monitor subcontractors, and interoperate technical drawings. Collaborating with the Project Manager, you'll manage resources and time. You'll review performance indicators, identify OH&S needs, conduct risk assessments, and manage ITP's. Projects will be based across Far North Queensland, so your ability to travel is essential. The current project requires DIDO from Cairns or Townsville on a 3/1 Roster with RDO (negotiable depending on location). Meals and accommodation will be provided on site.

What you'll need to succeed

You have a strong civil construction background and an Engineers Australia recognised Degree. You are enthusiastic, customer-centric and driven with a growth mindset
The following will additionally lead to your success:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience ideally working in remote regions with a Tier 1,2 or 3 Civil Contractor.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract administration, with specific experience in preparation and use of contract documentation for multi-faceted civil infrastructure projects.
  • Strong supervision and leadership skills of both in-house staff and contractors.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer service focus and the ability to maintain solid relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Current QLD Class C Driver's Licence (manual) and Construction White Card.
