A respected consultancy is seeking a Structural Engineer or Senior Building Inspector to lead and mentor a team of building inspectors, bringing technical leadership, compliance oversight, and a culture of continuous improvement.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a hybrid role that blends field inspections, mentoring, and technical strategy, with direct influence over people, process, and quality.

The Opportunity

• Lead and develop a team of 15+ inspectors (Registered Builders)
• Conduct or support complex inspections as needed (fieldwork component)
• Apply your knowledge of engineering principles to real-world inspection scenarios
• Deliver internal training and onboarding programs for inspectors
• Own and improve QA systems, SOPs, and compliance documentation
• Provide internal guidance on technical queries, disputes, and high-stakes reports
• Collaborate with the leadership team on continuous improvement and service quality

• Degree or Diploma qualified Structural Engineer preferred (Minimum Registered Builder or Building Surveyor).
• Working knowledge of the NCC, WA Guide to Standards & Tolerances, and AS 4349
• Comfortable guiding others, reviewing reports, and making clear technical calls
• Skilled communicator with a pragmatic, problem-solving approach
• Confident navigating issues and standing behind your professional judgment

• $140,000–$170,000 salary package + Bonus (commensurate with experience)
