Overview

This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 4, 2025 at Piara Waters Senior High School (SHS). Piara Waters SHS is located in Piara Waters, ~25km south of Perth. The school currently has Year 7–9 cohorts as it grows toward a full Year 12 by 2028.

Responsibilities
  • Bring people together, identify opportunities and establish new initiatives to support growth in a foundation school.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of student wellbeing processes to manage students and promote positive relationships between students, staff, parents and the local community.
  • Promote teaching, learning and student wellbeing using contemporary instructional strategies to create a positive and inclusive learning environment (including students with disabilities).
  • Demonstrate sound case management of students, including effective intervention, monitoring and reporting strategies, attendance analysis and data interpretation.
  • Provide direction and purpose to staff, build team capacity and cohesion, and foster a positive academic learning climate for all students.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism and be culturally responsive; contribute to leadership within a foundation school and adapt to a changing context. May include a teaching component.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Understanding of case management, intervention, monitoring and reporting in student contexts.
  • Ability to lead and develop staff, enhance team capacity and promote positive learning experiences for diverse learners.
  • Professional knowledge applied to achieve high educational outcomes for all students, including Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs.
  • Capacity to manage physical and financial resources; strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
  • High standards of professionalism; willingness to be flexible, adaptable, and grow professionally within a changing environment; potential teaching component.

Eligibility
