PPM is seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our team in Adelaide. Reporting to the Lead Design Manager, the Design Manager is responsible for overseeing the design and engineering aspects of assigned projects. This role is crucial in ensuring the technical integrity, safety, and quality of design and engineering works while meeting project milestones and budgetary constraints. The Design Manager will work closely with the Project Manager to facilitate process governance, manage commercial aspects, and support procurement, construction, and commissioning efforts. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, ensuring agile adjustments, and maintaining the project schedule.

Key Objectives
  • Provide technical problem-solving and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Serve as the primary interface for internal and external interactions, offering technical advice and guidance to the team.
  • Enhance the quality, timing, cost-effectiveness, and innovation of design and delivery on assigned projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including design resources, project management, construction, and commissioning teams.
  • Identify and implement new opportunities for process improvements, technical skill enhancement, and overall design and engineering delivery.
Key Relationships And Areas Of Influence
  • Lead and promote collaboration within project teams.
  • Build strong, open working relationships with internal and external design resources, construction, commissioning, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish and nurture constructive and influential business relationships across PPM and with external business partners, including clients, suppliers, and other agencies.
Essential Requirements
  • Previous project leadership experience.
  • University degree in Engineering with a focus on Energy.
  • Proven experience in Project and Design Leadership/Management.
  • Current driver's license.
Other Conditions
  • Ability to travel intrastate, interstate, or internationally as required.
  • Availability for out-of-hours work when necessary.
Reporting Relationships

This role reports directly to the Lead Design Manager and collaborates closely with project teams and other stakeholders.
