The Manager Financial Accounting and Manager Financial Accounting Assets are responsible for leading the financial accounting, reporting and compliance of the Department of Planning Lands and Heritage with statutory and regulatory obligations.
We have 2 x permanent full-time positions available for immediate filling:
- Level 7 Manager Financial Accounting Assets (00026640)
This is a pool recruitment process for permanent full-time and fixed term full-time opportunities. This pool may be used to fill future similar permanent or fixed-term positions that may arise within the Department and across the WA public sector in the next 12 months from the initial date of appointment.
Our Perth office is located in the Perth CBD in a convenient location, above the Perth Underground rail; close to the Wellington Street Bus Station and City CAT services.
To be successful for the Manager Financial Accounting position, you need to demonstrate- Extensive experience leading and managing in a large financial services environment.
- Substantial knowledge of current and emerging trends in financial and asset accounting, including Australian Accounting Standards, Financial Management Act 2006 and Treasurer's Instructions.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, promoting and implementing financial accounting services in response to government stakeholder expectations and broader community values.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (sound knowledge of TechnologyOne system is preferable).
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial and tax data to provide strategic insights.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Extensive experience leading and managing in a large financial services environment including in-depth knowledge of current and emerging trends in financial and land and building asset accounting, including Australian Accounting Standards, Financial Management Act 2006, and Treasurer's Instructions.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (sound knowledge of TechnologyOne system is preferable) including strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial and tax data to provide strategic insights.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Possession of a tertiary qualification in accounting or a related discipline and current membership of the Chartered Accountants Australian and New Zealand (CAANZ) or CPA Australia or the Institute of Public Accountants.
