Longitude has an exciting and brand-new opportunity for a Service Manager to join our busy team in a permanent capacity located in NSW.

Reporting to the National Underwriting Services Manager of Longitude in North Sydney, this highly sought after position is accountable for the leadership and management of the underwriting service team with a focus on ensuring broker partners are being effectively serviced. The Service Manager also acts as a key position in establishing and maintaining relationships with broker partners.

Additionally, the role has accountability for development, training and mentorship of the team and its members as well as identifying areas for improvement.

Some of the additional responsibilities include:

• Ensure underwriters are achieving KPI's as set out, including delivering productivity and turnaround time/service-based targets.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with broker partners, including being a point of contact and escalation for underwriting service-based matters.
• Work with appropriate internal stakeholders across the business to ensure delivery of business budgets, goals and objectives.
• Critically review reports regularly to ensure underwriting service team are meeting required targets and business is meeting budgets, goals and objectives.
• Anticipate problems and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management and risk assessment activities by performing quality assurance of risks and treatments.

Some of the soft skills we are looking for include:

• People management and support experience, and expertise and technical knowledge in strata or property/ISR/business package insurance either in underwriting or broking.
• In-depth understanding of legislation and policy frameworks.
• Advanced consultation, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful outcome.
• Strong track record of stakeholder management and management engagement.
• Effective people management skills and experience training and developing staff to deliver a high level of service, to lead and motivate a team and establish priorities and manage competing deadlines for self and others.
