As a Global Security & Safety (GSS) Analyst, you'll be a vital part of Zendesk's global security team, based in our vibrant Melbourne office. This is a junior-level role wherein you'll be on the front lines, helping to keep our people and assets safe across the Asia-Pacific region.

As a Global Security & Safety (GSS) Analyst, you'll be a vital part of Zendesk's global security team, based in our vibrant Melbourne office. This is a junior-level role wherein you'll be on the front lines, helping to keep our people and assets safe across the Asia-Pacific region.

You will be the sole member of the GSS team, working closely with colleagues across Asia Pacific region. This is a unique opportunity to build your career in a dynamic security environment, contribute to a global team, and have a direct impact on the safety of our organization.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Physical Threat Monitoring: Actively monitor for and report on current and emerging physical security threats, including geopolitical events, civil unrest, and natural disasters that could impact our employees and facilities in the APAC region.
  • Incident Response: Serve as a key responder to life safety incidents and physical security alerts. You'll assess the situation, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure a timely and effective response.
  • Intelligence Reporting: Utilize open-source intelligence (OSINT) and other tools to produce detailed threat assessments for our offices, travel, and other high-risk situations. Your clear and concise reports will be used by decision-makers to manage risk.
  • Alarm System Management: Monitor our alarm systems and ensure swift, appropriate action is taken in response to security alerts.
  • On-Call Rotation: Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for urgent security and safety incidents.

  • Have a strong interest in utilizing open-source intelligence and other analytical tools to identify risks.

Basic Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in an intelligence, investigations, or a similar analytical role.
  • Proficiency in analytical report writing and presenting findings.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a military, law enforcement, or corporate security environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with incident response and crisis resolution initiatives.
  • Knowledgeable in regional issues, with the ability to analyze and describe the impact of events clearly.
  • Experience with physical security systems, such as access control and CCTV.
  • A bachelor's degree in a security, international studies, or related field.

Hybrid: In this role, our hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience packed with connection, collaboration, learning, and celebration - while also giving you flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week. The specific in-office schedule is to be determined by the hiring manager.
