The volunteer Fundraising & Sponsorship Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and promoting fundraising activities, as well as seeking sponsorship opportunities to support the Club's operations, events, and long-term sustainability. This role is vital to ensure the Club has the resources to continue offering affordable, high-quality training to the dog-owning community.

Non-Committee Role

This is a voluntary, non-committee position, offering flexibility while making a valuable contribution to the Club.

Key Duties / Responsibilities
  • Fundraising Activities:
  • Plan and manage fundraising activities such as sausage sizzles, raffles, can drives, etc.
  • Coordinate logistics, volunteers, and promotional materials for each fundraising activity
  • Track income raised and ensure funds are accurately reported and allocated
    • Sponsorship Development:
    • Identify and approach potential sponsors (e.g., local businesses, other relevant companies) with sponsorship proposals
    • Maintain positive relationships with sponsors and ensure they receive appropriate recognition and benefits agreed
    • Develop and maintain sponsorship packages aligned with the Club's goals and offerings
      • Collaboration and Communication:
      • Work closely with the Committee to ensure alignment of fundraising and sponsorship efforts with Club priorities
      • Collaborate with the Newsletter Editor, Social Media Content Creator and Website Content Coordinator to promote fundraising activities and acknowledge sponsors
      • Provide updates on fundraising goals, sponsorship status and outcomes
        • Relationships:
        • Reports to the Secretary
        • Liaises with the President, Committee Members, Website Content Coordinator, Newsletter Editor, Social Media Content Creator, volunteers assisting with events, and sponsors
        Desirable Skills and Attributes
        • Strong organisational and planning skills
        • Highly confident in reaching out to business and community groups
        • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
        • Enthusiastic, creative, and community minded
        • Ability to manage tasks independently and as part of a team
        • Experience with fundraising or sponsorship (desirable, but not essential)

Provides monthly reports to the Committee on fundraising outcomes and sponsorship activity

Commitment
  • 12-month commitment
  • Approx. 2-4 hours per week, depending on the timing and scale of activities
  • Training: An orientation of the Club's previous fundraising initiatives and sponsorship proposal will be provided, as well as ongoing support and collaboration from the Committee is available.
