Technical Solution Designer at Leidos

What You'll Do — Responsibilities
  • Understand Customer Needs: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and deeply understand business objectives and challenges.
  • Design & Document Solutions: Develop high-level and detailed solution designs, including architecture, standards, and documentation such as design specs, diagrams, and technical collateral.
  • Select & Recommend Technologies: Assess and recommend technologies, platforms, and patterns aligned with MSS capabilities and Federal Government requirements.
  • Support Implementation & Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams—architects, developers, project managers, and vendors—to ensure successful solution delivery aligned with design intent.
  • Ensure Quality, Security & Improvement: Address technical issues, incorporate security best practices, and continuously evaluate and improve delivered solutions.
What You'll Bring To Make An Impact — Qualifications
  • Broad IT Knowledge: Strong understanding of software, infrastructure, and current technologies.
  • Technical Solutioning: Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and author responses to market tenders.
  • Development Methodologies: Experience with Agile, Waterfall, and other software development approaches.
  • Strong Communication & Analysis: Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Standards & Estimation: Knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and the ability to prepare solution estimates, including identifying risks and dependencies.
