The Role

The successful applicant will join the Careers and Vocational Education team at Willetton SHS and play a key role in delivering vocational education and training (VET) programs and career development opportunities for students in Years 10 to 12. This includes the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of nationally recognised qualifications aligned with Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE), in collaboration with other staff, Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), and industry partners. The role also supports individual pathway planning and the coordination of Workplace Learning or School-Based Traineeships. As part of the school's broader academic program, the teacher may also be required to teach subjects outside of the VET learning area depending on school needs.

To be successful in this position, the applicant should display a student-centred approach, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to supporting diverse learners as they prepare for post-school transitions. A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) is highly desirable, as is experience delivering VET qualifications such as Certificate II in Workplace Skills, Certificate III in Business and Certificate III in Community Services. Our senior school program is responsive to changes in the education and work landscapes, so we are looking for applicants who are proactive in the own professional development and are flexible to the needs of the school and our students. The ability to work collaboratively within a high-performing team, maintain VET compliance records, and contribute to learning area processes like subject counselling will beimportant.
