The Executive Support Officer is responsible for providing high level, effective and confidential executive support in a fast-paced environment.
The Deputy Director-General (DDG) leads the Commissioning division and is a member of the executive leadership of the department.
You will manage the flow of the DDG inbox and calendar and ensure timely preparation of departmental briefings to support the DDG and provide administrative support to the Office of the DDG.
Commissioning is a newly formed division that oversees outsourced service delivery funding management to third party providers to support service delivery for families, children, women, seniors and communities in Queensland. We steward, in partnership with regions, other government agencies, peak bodies and nongovernment organisations to deliver outcomes to strengthen community and deliver essential funding to support vulnerable Queenslanders.
The Executive Support Officer's Key Responsibilities Are:
- Managing diary and coordinating documents and meeting papers that are of a high standard, are fit for purpose and delivered within specified or agreed timeframes.
- Developing content which is complete, accurate and meets the standards of clarity and brevity consistent with procedures, set style guides and writing protocols.
- Ensuring confidential and sensitive information is managed appropriately.
- Building and maintaining positive communication and working relationships with officers and advisors within the Minister's office, Office of the Director-General, senior executives, senior management, and officers throughout the division and providing appropriate advice as and when required.
- Exercising judgment and initiative in decision-making, proactively identifying and acting on potential problems and developing appropriate standards.
- Providing administrative support to the Office of the DDG.
- Undertaking other duties as required relating to the requirements of the operational area and needs of the Office of the Deputy Director-General.
