The Role

We are seeking a keen and innovative applicant who has a strong grasp of the Western Australian Curriculum : Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS). We provide opportunities for students through our mainstream and Pathfinder (academic extension), small group tuition programs and offer Humanities and Social Sciences courses in General andAustralian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) studies. These include Ancient History, Modern History, Politics and Law and HASS in Action. If you are passionate about teaching HASS at the secondary level, this position is for you.

As a member of our HASS team, you will be committed to creating engaging and challenging learning opportunities that foster students' critical thinking, inquiry skills, and ability to connect classroom learning with real-world contexts. You will work collaboratively within a supportive team, display high levels of reflective practice, and apply evidence-based strategies and differentiated teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of students.

You should, ideally, be able to display a strong commitment and capacity to :

  • Plan, teach and deliver engaging lessons across both Lower and Senior School HASS courses.
  • Develop curriculum programs that promote inquiry, debate, and critical and creative thinking.
  • Use and create high-quality learning materials and digital resources.
  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress in line with policy and SCSA requirements.
  • Engage in moderation, feedback, and professional collaboration with colleagues.
  • Build positive relationships with students that foster respect, inclusion and achievement.
