About the Role

Vision Super recently went through a merger doubling in size to become a $30 billion superannuation fund. We are seeking an experienced and strategic investment professional to set an appropriate strategy for our Unlisted Investments portfolio which includes infrastructure, property and private equity. As a key leader within the Investment team, you will shape portfolio strategy, oversee manager relationships, build on our direct investing capability and aim to generate strong risk-adjusted returns. While your focus will be on the Unlisted Investments Portfolio, you will also be required to provide your perspective on key portfolio issues outside of your direct domain.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the development and execution of unlisted asset strategies in line with Fund strategy and investment beliefs
• Provide thoughtful and insightful advice to the CIO, Internal Investment Committee (IIC), Investment Committee (IC) and Board on the design, implementation and review of the illiquid asset classes
• Direct and maintain relationships with service providers
• Mentor and develop staff working on private market investments
• Drive due diligence, portfolio construction, and governance
• Represent the fund with credibility across industry forums
• Traveling overseas periodically to conduct due diligence on investment managers

What We're Looking For

• Deep experience (at least 10+ years) in private markets (e.g. infra, property, PE), including the development and execution of investment strategy.
• Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills
• Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills including the ability to build effective relationships at all levels at Vision Super and externally
• Proven ability to generate, articulate and argue for Investment ideas in a respectful manner within the Investment team and subsequently present the ideas to the IIC, IC and Board
• Tertiary qualifications in fields such as finance and economics are preferred. However, degrees in other disciplines will be considered. Numerically focused disciplines such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics are also highly regarded, as well as those disciplines that require strong research skills and a questioning mind.
