The Organisation & The Role:Our client is a Tier-1 Financial Institution in Australia with a well-established 'three lines of defence' structure. This role functions as a unique 'Change Leader' for their 2LoD Risk Assurance Division.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Be a 'Risk Transformation Pioneer' by redefining the quality standards of 2nd Line Risk Assurance across SOX Prudential, Operational Risk, Compliance, and Project domains in line with regulatory changes and evolving risk management practices.
  • Re-engineer the 2nd Line Risk Assurance processes, lead and develop methodologies, training, and quality frameworks.
  • Act as a 'Project Manager' to lead and coordinate annual assurance testing and transformation initiatives such as Analytics & Automation strategies.
  • Perform independent reviews and evaluations along the 'change' process, continuously challenging the status quo.
  • Maintain updates to the Risk and Compliance Assurance Manual, ensuring tools and methods are fit for purpose.
  • Hold stakeholders accountable across the 3 lines of defence, up to Head-of level, to ensure responsibilities are exercised in enhancing risk frameworks and rolling out initiatives.
  • Continuously identify trends and common practices adopted by peer industry players.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in Financial Services, including assurance, risk & compliance, quality assurance, practice management, process optimisation, or project management backgrounds.
  • Ability to standardise and optimise controls effectively and efficiently.
  • Outstanding project coordination skills to successfully plan, implement, and drive change & transformation in a complex Tier-1 financial institution architecture.
  • Potential leadership skills to recruit and manage a team.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CA, CISA, CIA, FRM, MBA are desirable.
  • Technical skills in data analytics, business intelligence, and automation are advantageous.
