We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the CAMHS team as a Mental Health Clinical Nurse. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing assessment, education, counselling, and group work to support children, adolescents, and their families with mental health needs.
- Ensuring clinical practice aligns with policy, maintaining accountability for your standards and delegated activities.
- Collaborating with other professional disciplines and non-government organisations to achieve optimal consumer health and recovery.
- Offering direction, support, orientation, and education to staff, fostering a skilled and informed team.
- Leading and participating in research, quality improvement initiatives, and policy development within the service.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Registration or eligibility for registration as a nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with a current practicing certificate or eligibility to hold one. Enrolled in an approved mental health course or holding a qualification in mental health practice.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals and families for positive mental health outcomes and to foster productive relationships across disciplines.
- The ability to lead and motivate staff to achieve positive outcomes.
- The ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines while working independently.
- At least 3 years of full-time equivalent post-registration experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct complex mental health assessments and therapeutic interventions with children and adolescents experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties.
