The Department of Medicine at the Mackay Base Hospital are looking for an Advanced Trainee Registrar - General Medicine to join their team on a Temporary Full-Time (76 hrs p.f.) basis for 12 months with a possibility of extension.

Mackay Hospital and Health Service Mackay is a vibrant regional centre in tropical North Queensland, servicing a population of over 180,000. The Mackay Isaac Whitsunday Region has a thriving economy that includes a diverse range of tourism, agriculture, industry, mining, education, and health industries. Mackay provides relaxed and comfortable rural and coastal living opportunities, only an hour flight from Brisbane and a short distance to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. Salary
Remuneration value up to $172,342 p.a. comprising salary between $4,966.90 p.f. - $5,758.70 p.f. (L4-L9)
Your opportunity
- To advance your practice in general medicine through exposure to an exciting case mix in a supportive environment under the supervision of a collaborative unit of Specialists.
- To work closely with and learn from a wide array of Specialists with an extensive breadth of expertise.
- To develop the clinical leadership skills required to practice as an RACP Fellow.
- To participate in the provision, development, and maintenance of an effective, efficient, and equitable clinical service to hospital clients; and contribute to the continual improvement of medical education and dissemination of knowledge to staff and clients
The Department of General Medicine manages patients with a diverse range of multiple active co-morbidities or undifferentiated illnesses above the age of 16 years that require ongoing inpatient, ward-based hospital care. We are a busy inpatient service with consultation and outpatient clinic responsibilities.
