Manager, Environment & Sustainability — Tamworth, NSW. Full-time position. Opportunity to assist Council in promoting and achieving sustainability goals and to manage the delivery of environmental sustainability projects and programs.
Responsibilities- Identify grant funding opportunities in the environment and sustainability area
- Prepare and review environmental factors and Environmental Impact Statements for Council works
- Assist other divisions of Council with environmental issues and compliance
- Lead the organisation's response to environmental matters affecting the broader organisation and/or not assigned to a particular division
- Prepare and implement strategic documents aimed at improving the community's understanding of sustainability and the need to improve sustainability through conservation, reduction in demand, increased recycling and other initiatives
- Increase awareness within the Council of the need to consider sustainability during the planning and construction of projects
- Investigate Council activities to identify areas where sustainability could be increased and assist responsible officers to implement those changes
- Degree and Post Graduate Diploma or 4 Year Degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science or other related qualification
- NSW Driver's Licence
- Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
Tamworth, NSW. Salary range: Grade 23 — $156,554.92 to $169,405.87 per annum, including 12% superannuation and leaseback vehicle for a 35-hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills and experience. Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
