Job Description

Provide support to learners and teachers by undertaking a range of non-teaching duties, including classroom administration and practical tasks such as contributing to the preparation of teaching materials. This role aims to assist with the promotion, delivery, and integration of the key objectives outlined in the Education Service Plan and the Community Plan.

Requirements

The duties involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member or have an updated PVG Scheme Record before a formal employment offer can be made by East Ayrshire Council.

Note: PVG records are regularly updated. Any relevant information disclosed will be discussed with the applicant prior to employment.

The Individual

This is a temporary, part-time, term-time position at Willowbank School, Kilmarnock, until 31st March 2026.

The hours are 27.5 per week, Monday to Friday, as directed by the Head Teacher.

Willowbank School caters to pupils with severe, complex, and profound additional support needs. Experience with children with Additional Support Needs is advantageous.

The full-time annual salary ranges from £24,333 to £25,353. The actual term-time salary ranges from £16,398 to £17,085.
