Overview

Family Education and Support Worker

Part-time Permanent role (approximately 30 hours per week). $36.73 per hour + superannuation. Great work-life balance with flexible working options available.

We're seeking a compassionate and motivated Family Education and Support Worker to join our Early Years and Family Services team. In this role, you'll provide personalised support to families in their homes, helping children thrive in early learning and giving parents the tools and confidence to navigate services.

Responsibilities
  • Support families in their homes using best-practice interventions. The facilitator will spend time with families in the home environment to increase parents and caregivers' confidence to support learning and development, while strengthening positive habits and behaviours through role modelling, observation and the development of specific in-home learning activities tailored to each child and family's needs.
  • Guide families through the service system. Source and share materials and activities to help families transition into kindergarten and assist families and educators in early childhood services to overcome barriers to participation.
  • Work alongside educators. Build strong partnerships with kindergarten teachers and early childhood educators, sharing insights from home visits so learning continues between home and the classroom.
  • Encourage participation in education. Help families see the value of consistent early learning through regular attendance at and participation in Kindergarten sessions, supporting children's confidence, friendships and skills.
  • Develop meaningful family plans. With parents, set achievable goals (e.g., routines, school readiness) and track progress so families can celebrate improvements.
  • Balance case work with reporting. Maintain records, track data, and report outcomes to ensure the program delivers measurable, lasting benefits to children and the community.
Why join us?
  • Career Development – Ongoing learning, mentoring, and progression opportunities.
  • Leave Entitlements – Generous and flexible leave to support work-life balance.
  • Flexible Work Options – Where applicable, adaptable hours and flexible work arrangements.
  • Health & Wellbeing – Access to Fitness Passport, EAP, and other wellness initiatives.

Our ideal candidate will be able to show us the following:

  • Minimum qualification: Diploma of Children's Services (or similar) or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
