Volunteer: Community Empowerment Volunteer in the Azores

Location: So Miguel Island, Azores

Duration: 2-12 weeks

Cost: from 1025 Euros

Fee Includes: all food, accommodation, pre-departure + in-country support, orientation and all project related activities

Does not Include: flights, travel insurance, personal spending, visas and vaccinations

Responsibilities
  • Support intergenerational well-being by organizing creative, educational, and recreational activities for children, teens, and the elderly.
  • Empower youth through dance by contributing to a Hip-Hop Dance Project that builds confidence and social inclusion.
  • Enhance community health by assisting with medication management, ensuring safe storage and accurate tracking.
  • Make a meaningful impact in collaboration with local NGOs, while being matched to projects that suit your skills and local needs.
Introduction

Immerse yourself in the vibrant community of So Miguel Island, where youll work with local NGOs to support children, teens, and elderly residents through creative, educational, and health-focused initiatives. From organizing arts and games to helping manage medication systems, your efforts will foster connection, growth, and well-being across generations.

Hip-Hop Dance Project

As part of a unique Hip-Hop Dance Project, you will offer young people at risk of social exclusion a safe and expressive outlet. Through dance, they gain confidence, teamwork skills, and a sense of belonging while you support their journey.

Health Initiatives

You may also play a vital role in NGO health initiatives by assisting with medication tracking, ensuring proper storage, and helping improve access to essential treatments.
