Volunteer- Craft EnthusiastReporting to the Practice and Support Coordinator/Lifestyle CoordinatorThis role will be based at our Residential Aged Care facility in CarnegieThe volunteer function at Jewish Care exists to provide compassionate support and meaningful engagement to individuals and communities in need.
Through their contributions, volunteers help foster an inclusive, respectful, and socially responsible environment aligned with Jewish Care's values.
Their involvement strengthens the organisation's ability to deliver essential services, create positive social connections, and uphold the dignity of those they assist.To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:You don't need special skills, just a warm heart and the desire to make a differenceWillingness to undergo or provide a National Criminal History Check or NDIS Worker Screening CheckProvide two referees (non-family) who can speak to your characterBe reliable, compassionate, and enjoy spending time with our clientsCommitment to regular volunteeringWhat we're looking for:A passion for crafting and creativityPatience, empathy, and the ability to work with our residents.A friendly and approachable demeanour.Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and instruct group activities.Create a safe and welcoming environment that fosters growth and empowerment during all activities.Monitor participants during sessions and adjust exercises as needed for comfort and safety.Promote positive and respectful relationships with residents through friendly and supportive interactions.About usJewish Care Victoria, is a not-for-profit organisation and is one of the largest providers of aged and community services for the Jewish Community in Victoria and has been servicing the community for 175 years.Our staff come from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.Jewish Care proudly celebrates and warmly welcomes the rich diversity of our community and strives to be inclusive for all, including the LGBTI+ community.Jewish Care acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and work.
