Responsibilities and focus
  • Collaboratively lead, mentor and coach teachers to design flexible curriculum and contemporary pedagogies.
  • Enhance learning outcomes by developing social and enterprise skills for a changing world.
  • Build teacher capacity to provide relevant and authentic student-centred learning, improve student learning through focussed in-situ professional learning, effectively use data to meet each student at their point of challenge, and ensure alignment with the School Vision.
Role Requirements

The pedagogy coach will:

  • Support the Principal in the ministry of leadership, modelling respectful relationships with colleagues, students and families.
  • Use research and data to plan strategically and maintain a relational approach to team building.
  • Foster an innovative teacher mindset that supports student-centred learning.
  • Model highly accomplished teaching using contemporary pedagogy and flexible curriculum design.
  • Possess high level communication and interpersonal skills including empathy and confidentiality.
  • Undertake professional learning as a connected educator who contributes to system learning in a global world.
  • Support teachers in the use of digital technology to enhance learning and contribute to a culture of imagination, creativity and innovation.
Functions Of The Role
  • Lead, mentor and coach teachers in situ and during professional learning meetings to provide experiential inquiry learning where students demonstrate knowledge and understanding.
  • Initiate professional discussions to evaluate practice and improve educational outcomes.
  • Establish, develop and implement high-yield pedagogical strategies.
  • Lead professional learning dialogues by facilitating teams to meet, plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate learning.
  • Support the Principal and senior leaders to ensure Year 7-12 programming, assessment and reporting documentation complies with Diocesan and NESA requirements.
  • Other duties as directed by the Principal.
Important Notes

Due to the volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) world, the role priorities and placement may change over time in consultation with the person serving in the role.

The successful applicant could be expected to uphold the Australian Professional Standards For Teachers at the Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher level, including know students and how they learn; plan for and implement effective teaching and learning; assess, provide feedback and report on student learning; engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the community.

Application and Selection

This position involves working with children. Appointment is subject to satisfactory employment screening including a Working with Children Check and CSPD's Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working With Students and Children. Applicants must be classified with CSPD or complete the online registration process for teachers on the CSPD website. CSPD promotes safety and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.   • A cover letter (no more than one A4 page) or a 2-3 minute video outlining suitability.
  • A 1-page statement on how your skills and experience align with this teaching role.
  • A one-page resume with three referees.
