GR Engineering Services Limited (GRES) specialises in providing high quality engineering design and construction services to the mining and mineral processing industries. Our services cover all aspects of a project life cycle from the initial evaluation and study phase through to design, constructions, commissioning and operational support.

The Opportunity

We are on the lookout for a motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team based in our Brisbane Office

You will have the opportunity to work both in the design office and on site dedicated to a project making real contributions.

We are looking for a motivated and proactive Senior Mechanical Engineer with a desire to increase their technical knowledge and develop their long term career with GRES.

Your typical day will consist of:
  • Ensuring all mechanical engineering work complies with statutory and regulatory requirements and company policies and practices
  • Ensuring Project conformity with regards to safety, environmental and quality issues
  • Prepare and review preliminary and detailed designs for Mechanical engineering project work and ensure compliance with conditions and parameters set out in project scope of work
  • Lead/manage the designated design engineering and drafting team to achieve project goals within time and budget constraints
  • Preparing documentation standards, procedures, safe working practices and monitoring regimes in respect of work on or around engineering projects
  • Technical review of tender documentation for projects so that project objectives (schedule and performance) are achieved
  • Preparing maintenance planning data for all project fixed plant and infrastructure items covered by the project design scope
What we are looking for:
  • Relevant engineering qualifications and minimum 8 years professional experience in Mechanical engineering
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the mineral processing and materials handling fields
  • Knowledge of current engineering design and standards
  • Ability to execute the design process in conjunction with all relevant disciplines and ensure design coordination of any multi-disciplined activities
  • Be proficient with relevant engineering software used within the organisation, particularly excel, word and computer aided drafting tools.
  • Ability to handle priorities and tasks with accuracy and excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrate high level communication and problem solving skills
