Support Sue who is living with Alzheimers to live her best life
We're looking for compassionate, reliable and motivated Live-In Carers to support Sue – a friendly & happy individual living with Alzheimers who is seeking kind and creative carers to help her with her day-to-day living in the town of Urana NSW in the Riverina Region.
Sue loves making art, going for walks, and working on her home. Sue has two indoor cats, and loves it when animals visit her shop especially horses and dogs. Sue needs support to attend to simple tasks in the community owned takeaway, conversing with customers and being actively involved in our community social program.
This is a unique live-in role, where you'll reside in Sue's home for 2 to 4, or up to 7 days at a time? You let us know what you are looking for. Active support is rostered and capped at up to 8 hours of active support across each 24-hour period. You'll have your own private room during your rostered days and renumeration includes meals and travel expenses.

Our retail shop and takeaway in Urana is a hub for locals and visitors, helping us meet new clients, share stories, and grow support in a community that truly needs it. We provide meals, transport and social support to a number of the towns residents who are looking for carers who make a difference.
What could you bring?
Retail & Customer Service Experience – Be the friendly face that welcomes locals and travellers; help our Volunteers & Supporters to socialise with a variety of people
Cooking & Meal Planning Skills – Do you love making great food? Is there a dish or food style you're passionate about sharing? Help make meals for our aged care guests.
Housekeeping & Life Management – You like a tidy environment & keeping the chaos in check and are physically able to do so. Help our clients make the most of having someone to help them with their day to day tasks.
Companion Care – Do you love your car and love to drive? Are you safety conscious & a responsible person? Our rural towns are close to larger regional centres where our clients have access to medical, cultural and social services; you will also get a chance to explore and discover the variety on offer in these centres.
Practical Talents – Handyperson repairs, sewing, gardening, writing newsletters, organising events — skills that keep a small town buzzing. We encourage you to provide support that also inspires you.
Your Skills and Qualifications:
Reliability and trustworthiness
Relevent Certificates or willingness to obtain (First Aid Certificate; NDIS Workers Screening; Working with Children's Check; Working with Vulnerable People Check etc)
Current Australian Driver's License, reliable Vehicle & a willingness to drive people to appointments etc
Demonstrated elderly care experience and physically able to assist with mobility if needed
Excellent communication skills and patience, empathy, and genuine care for vulnerable people
Physical ability to perform housekeeping & an everything in its place mindset
Confidence to speak & serve the public, operating our point of sale system when assisting Sue in the shop
Flexible Rotations & Remote Options
You might work one week on / one week off or four days a month. Let us know what you are looking for and let's see what we can do. We work with our team to organise our rosters well in advance to help our team plan and make the most of your visits to our region and all that it offers.
And when you return home, there may be agreed hours for remote follow-through — such as admin, phone check-ins, or creative projects — so you can stay connected and keep making an impact from wherever you are

Locations:
URANA, NSW (Live-In) - west of both WAGGA WAGGA & ALBURY WODONGA
When: Flexible rotations (week on/off or monthly) + remote follow-through hours where applicable to ongoing projects
URANA is a town on traditional Wiradjuri Country in the Southern Riverina of New South Wales and it is "in the middle of everywhere". The rich farming land of Urana, between the Murrumbidgee River to the north and the Murray River to the south is an easy drive from several regional centres including Albury Wodonga and Wagga Wagga.
The Urana Township has a Primary School, a Hospital, Doctor, a Chemist, Post Office, Ag Stores, a Bowling Club and Recreational activities including a Gym, Pool, Water Sports at the Lake in Summer and AFL & Netball in Winter. The imposing centrepiece of the town is the Urana Soldiers' Memorial Hall suggesting theres more to the story of this tiny town of 150 homes.
For carers who love to travel, Uranais also a stones throw from Corowa, Mulwala and Rutherglen to the south; historic Jerilderie and Denilquin to the west; NSW's fruit bowl Griffith, Leeton & Narrandera to the north; a meandering trip from Sydney via Goulburn, Yass & Gundagai; or a powerdrive from Melbourne via the Northern Eastern Victorian regional centres of Shepparton or Wangaratta.
