HumeLink West Project

Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors, have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.

HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project connecting Wagga Wagga, Maragle, and Bannaby in regional NSW, significantly increasing the capacity of Australia's eastern states electricity network. It is one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure projects, with approximately 365 km of proposed new transmission lines and other infrastructure upgrades.

The HumeLink West scope, valued at $1.5bn, includes the delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning 130 km from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new substation at Gugaa, near Gundagai, and a new substation at Maragle for future connection to Snowy 2.0.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Community Place Manager to join the HumeLink West JV project team. This role supports community engagement programs and manages internal and external communications for the project.

Please note this role will be based in Batlow (Snowy Valleys) for the duration of the project. Relocation or FIFO options will be considered for the right candidate.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Develop and implement stakeholder contact and liaison programs to foster trust and reliability.
  2. Create and manage a systematic complaints handling process, developing action plans and monitoring outcomes.
  3. Understand and implement contractual community and stakeholder requirements.
  4. Collaborate with the Project Team to identify and address community concerns and project priorities.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in similar roles on large infrastructure projects.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in engaging with the public on various issues.
  • Excellent writing skills for diverse communication materials.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude.

The role requires holding a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and passing a medical including drug and alcohol testing prior to start. Evidence of tertiary qualifications and proof of right to work will be required where applicable.
