About the role
This position sits within the AOD cluster, which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of people who are considered homeless or use drugs and/or alcohol. The Family Drug Support Worker provides support to improve overall health, wellbeing and resilience of families and offer practical support and information.

This is a hybrid role, two days working from home, one day from the office.

  • Delivery of evidenced based interventions and harm reduction support either as a single session intervention or ongoing
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the Department of Health and Human Services, relevant community agencies, local government and other key stakeholders
  • Collect accurate data in line with Cohealth and Department of Health's quality framework
  • Maintain and develop standards of practice and skills

  • Understanding of and commitment to Harm Minimisation and the models that underpin Family Drug Support
  • Demonstrated experience working in the Drug & Alcohol sector
  • Experience providing brief interventions, single session interventions and ongoing support

All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC), a Working With Children Check (WWCC), complete a Pre-Employment Declaration Form, evidence of legal rights to work in Australia, and evidence of vaccination.

Successful applicants will be required to provide evidence of immunisation assessment including Influenza within 12 weeks of commencement [B]. This is in accordance with the Victorian Minister of Health Mandatory Vaccination Orders and legislated requirement for influenza vaccination.
