About the Role:

The Asset Protection Officer role conducts various proactive and reactive inspections of sites associated with any type of building or construction activity and is delegated to enforce Council's Local Laws relating to these matters. Effectively communicating with your colleagues within the Asset Protection team and other key departments, as well as our customers within the municipality is essential in carrying out the duties required with this role.

You will be responsible for:

  • Demonstrated Asset Protection Awareness and Understanding
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including conflict resolution skills and techniques
  • Interpersonal skills and capacity to contribute effectively within the team and represent Council positively out in the field
  • Ability to manage your time effectively to achieve key deliverables
  • Relevant experience in planning or local law enforcement desirable

Mandatory pre-employment requirements:

  • Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check
  • Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
  • Be willing to undertake a premedical assessment check (if applicable for the role)
  • A valid Victorian driving licence
