Based at our InfraBuild Recycling Hemmant site, the Excavator Operator will perform a range of operating duties within the scrap metal yard. This is a day shift role with standard hours from 6am to 2pm, Monday to Friday, with an additional requirement of 12 hour shifts and weekend work paid at overtime rates during busy times. This is a full-time permanent position with on-the-job training provided and excellent opportunities for career progression.

• Loading and unloading trucks and shipping containers
• Emptying trucks - dragging out the back of a tipper
• Loading metal objects of various sizes onto conveyor to be processed through the shredder
• Adhering to workplace safety procedures at all times
• Maintaining cleanliness in the yard and operational areas

• Knowledge of various excavator attachments and magnets
• Experience operating an excavator and maneuvering around a busy environment
• Experience in scrap recycling, construction or manufacturing is highly advantageous
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced yard environment
• A positive mindset with a general willingness to learn
• Passion for working as part of a collaborative team
