GCE Contractors are a leading Brisbane-based civil construction company specializing in pipeline construction, culvert construction, shaft construction, pipe jacking & tunnelling, bulk earthworks, roadworks, demolition and general plant hire. With a proven track record delivering challenging projects safely, on time and to a high standard, we are looking for skilled operators to join our growing team.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to work across our projects in Brisbane and SEQ. This is a hands-on site-based role requiring safe and efficient operation of excavators in civil construction environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operating excavators in trenching, pipe laying, bulk earthworks and structures.
  • Working to plans, levels and line marks.
  • Assisting crews with safe lifting, loading and placement of materials.
  • Daily pre-start checks, care and basic maintenance of plant.
  • Following site safety procedures, SWMS and directions from Supervisors/Foremen.
  • Supporting the team to achieve production targets safely and efficiently.
About You
  • Minimum 1 year experience operating excavators in civil construction.
  • Experience in trenching, stormwater/sewer/watermain installation highly regarded.
  • Ability to work to levels, grades and with trench shields/boxes.
  • Current HRWL / VOCs / RII for excavator operation.
  • Construction White Card.
  • Current driver's license and reliable transport.
  • Strong safety focus and team player attitude.
