Our client is a well-established, family-owned construction company with over 40 years of experience delivering end-to-end design to construct projects. Providing solutions for the construction of food processing facilities, factories, cold stores, commercial developments, plus many more

They are seeking a passionate and personable Health and Safety Manager to join their team.

Purpose:

The Health and Safety Manager will report to the General Manager and work alongside Site Managers and the Quality team to deliver top-notch builds safely. Spending time in the office as well as on-site to conduct inspections, risk assessments, toolbox talks, investigate incidents or near misses and provide monthly safety reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee all safety operations, ensuring compliance with site and industry standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and share advice or insights with the internal team, contractors, and clients.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses and develop preventative actions.
  • Work with the Quality team to determine best practices.
  • Visit sites and liaise with Site Managers and other project teams.
  • Undertake site audits and inspections to evaluate HSE performance and corrective actions.
  • Manage any injuries through the WorkCover process and develop return-to-work plans.
  • Liaise with third parties (Unions, Workplace Health & Safety QLD) if required.
  • Keep track of required training and certificates.
  • Provide monthly reports to the Management team.
  • Keep the reporting system (hammertech) up to date.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a Health and Safety position, ideally management.
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (BSB41419).
  • Diploma of Work Health and Safety (beneficial).
  • Experience in the construction industry.
  • Proven ability to implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Strong attention to detail for investigations and RCA.
  • Comfortable conversing and presenting to all levels of management and Clients.
