This role is a Hands on People opportunity located in Queensland.
The OpportunityWe now have an amazing opportunity to be PARTT of something meaningful. As a key member of our Care Services team, you will play a hands-on role supporting participants in our SIL Accommodation homes. The successful candidates will possess the experience to work with individuals with complex care needs. Local applicants are preferred.
Responsibilities- Medication administration
- Home Based Daily Living Support
- Taking participants to appointments and other community participation
- Behaviour observation and support
- Meal preparation and shopping assistance
- Maintaining a record of participant progress
- Assessing participants to determine continuing needs
- Assistance in building participant self-image and self-confidence
- Manual Handling of participants
- Availability to cover a range of shifts including sleepovers and weekends
This participant requires 24-hour care so a variety of shifts will be available.
Skills and ExperiencesWho We\'re Looking For
We are seeking experienced, capable support workers with a background supporting challenging clients. The successful candidates will have:
- Own vehicle for transport with comprehensive insurance
- Ability to work varied shifts
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Ageing or related industries highly regarded
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Current National Police Clearance
- Current QLD Unrestricted Driver's License
Due to participant requirements, we can only consider candidates who meet the below requirements in this instance:
- Female
- Aged 30-45
- Not of African or Asian descent
- Clear spoken English
- Experienced or comfortable and knowledgeable with restrictive practice guidelines and Positive Behaviour Support Plans
- Experience with Mental Health practices
- Candidates with First Nations heritage highly regarded
