Sydney, New South Wales, Australia ELEK Software - Electrical Power Systems Design Full time

Location: Hybrid work from our Sydney CBD office.

About Us

Elek.com is a leading provider of innovative electrical power engineering design software, trusted by businesses and professionals worldwide. We're entering our next journey stage — transforming how we operate, scale, and innovate using AI-driven automation across every part of the business.

About the Role

We seek a forward-thinking AI and automation Engineer to help us reimagine how Elek.com runs. This role is about more than coding — it's about building intelligent, AI-powered automation and inspiring teams across the company to adopt it.

You'll work with operations, marketing, engineering, and software development colleagues, using tools like Zapier, n8n, APIs, AWS, and AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, Lovable) to build and maintain automation workflows and internal tools.

This position is open to early-career graduates with strong potential and experienced professionals ready to lead automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to automate workflows across operations, marketing, engineering, software development, sales, and customer support.
  • Build, integrate, and maintain AI-powered automation using no-code/low-code platforms (Zapier, n8n) and scripting (Python, APIs) where needed.
  • Use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Lovable, Copilot, etc.) to prototype and develop internal tools that rapidly improve business efficiency.
  • Act as an AI champion: run workshops, create playbooks, and support teams in adopting AI into their daily work.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and scalability in all automation projects.
  • Stay on top of emerging AI and automation technologies and bring practical innovations to the business.

About You

  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline (graduates and strong bachelor's candidates welcome).
  • Passion for AI, automation, and digital transformation.
  • Comfortable working with APIs, automation tools, and cloud platforms (AWS experience is a plus).
  • Able to write clean, maintainable Python code when required (not a full-time developer role).
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, curiosity, and ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to advocate for AI solutions across the business.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with workflow automation platforms (Zapier, n8n, Make).
  • Exposure to AI-powered tools and assistants (Claude, OpenAI, Bedrock, etc.).
  • Familiarity with data analytics or BI platforms (Power BI, SQL, AWS QuickSight).
  • Experience delivering training, documentation, or evangelism for new technologies.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits, based on experience.
  • Flexible working arrangements (remote/hybrid).
  • Ongoing professional development in AI, automation, and cloud technologies.
  • The chance to shape the future of Elek.com by embedding AI into everything we do.
  • A supportive, innovative, and forward-looking culture where your ideas have real impact.
