Overview

Harry Maxwell has been engaged to conduct an executive search project for an experienced Civil Engineering Manager to join a leading civil & structural engineering consultancy in Perth.

This role is perfect for someone eager to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You'll take the lead in delivering key projects, shaping outcomes, and influencing strategic direction — all while championing technical excellence across a wide-ranging mix of impactful projects.

What You'll Be Doing
  • You'll be responsible for coordinating and delivering multidisciplinary civil projects, overseeing design outcomes, and serving as the primary interface between clients, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Support the planning and delivery of land development projects, ensuring alignment with applicable design standards, planning frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for approvals, liaising with councils, authorities, and service providers to facilitate smooth project progression.
  • Apply technical expertise to translate project requirements into practical design solutions that balance commercial, environmental, and community considerations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure design quality, compliance, and timely delivery across all phases of the project lifecycle.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (Chartered status preferred)
  • Minimum 7 years' experience.
  • Proven experience in land development, with a strong command of WA-specific processes, civil design principles, and applicable standards including Austroads, WSUD guidelines, and local planning schemes.
  • Strong design experience across a broad range of civil engineering projects.
  • Proven track record working in a similar role within Australia.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a team-focused mindset.
