An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join the Retail team as a Full Time Customer Service Attendant

In this role, you will interact daily with guests, providing advice, recommending products, and assisting with enquiries. Retail assistants are also responsible for keeping the shop clean and presentable at all times.

This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a high level of customer interaction, and the ability to work in a high-performance environment. A successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, the ability to meet role requirements, and work effectively within a team.

Duties Include:

  • Welcoming and greeting customers, assisting with enquiries.
  • Processing transactions at the point-of-sale, including cash and credit payments, and handling other transactions such as annual passes and departmental accounts.
  • Providing accurate change and receipts.
  • Processing refunds with supervisor approval.
  • Counting money, sorting change, and balancing cash registers.
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy work environment.
  • Delivering high-quality customer service throughout the zoo and retail locations.
  • Following daily in-store run sheets.
  • Undertaking stock counts and stocking shelves with accurate merchandising.
  • Describing product features and benefits to customers.
  • Reporting discrepancies and issues to the store supervisor or management team.
  • Keeping the shop tidy, including vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning windows.
  • Ensuring displays meet Australia Zoo standards.
  • Requesting stock from the warehouse in advance.
  • Reporting customer complaints appropriately.
  • Assisting with crowd control during shows and events.
  • Following department procedures and KPIs.
  • Receiving and storing stock deliveries.
  • Staying updated on promotions and displays.
  • Attending meetings as required by management.

Essential Criteria:

  • Availability to work weekends, public holidays, and school holidays.
  • Experience in a similar role and a long-term commitment to Australia Zoo.
