
Teacher - Primary - Science Specialist

We are seeking to establish a pool of Science Specialist Primary Teachers for permanent and fixed-term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Note: This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. Application requirements include character-limited responses to address only 2 Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) domains at application stage. The remaining AITSL domain will be assessed as part of the further assessment stage, for shortlisted applicants only.

The RoleSuitable applicants would provide innovative, evidence-based science programs to students in years from Pre-Primary through to Year One. There should be a strong focus in the science program on Agri-science, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) initiatives. Suitable applicants are encouraged to continue to implement the sustainability program and develop partnerships within the community.
Suitable applicants will ideally have proven strength in the delivery of high-quality science programs. Suitable applicants will ideally be proficient in the delivery of differentiated programs, with a student-centred approach. Sound skills in behaviour management, an ability to cater for students with specific learning needs and an ability to connect the specialist science program to classroom learning would be highly desirable. Suitable applicants will ideally have knowledge and experience in the use of technology, be innovative and team oriented, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team of specialist teachers as well as classroom teachers.

EligibilityTo work with us, you must:
- Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start; and
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
