Daily tasks and responsibilities :

  • Locate member vehicles in the tyre shop area of the carpark. Record any body damage on the service order. Drive the vehicle into the install bay, onto the hydraulic hoist, and set the brake. Raise the vehicle using the lift.
  • Remove the wheel using an impact gun. Follow safety and security procedures. Roll the wheel to the mounting machine, remove the tyre from the wheel. Attach a new valve stem, mount the new tyre on the wheel, and fill the tyre to the appropriate air pressure.
  • Operate the automatic balance machine to determine the proper weight and placement for balancing the wheel. Attach lead weights to the rim with a lead weight hammer.
  • Reattach the wheels to the vehicle using an impact gun and a hand torque wrench according to tyre shop procedures.
  • Notify the supervisor or manager to complete the 9-point check and authorize vehicle release. Park the vehicle in the lot and return the invoice and keys to the sales desk.
  • Perform a second torque check after the manager or supervisor inspects the tyres installed by others.
  • Repair flat tyres for members. Clean the install area by sweeping, mopping, spraying, and wiping.
  • Assist with sales and stock tyres in the sales area according to the Tyre Shop Manager's merchandising plan.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with monthly stocktaking (inventory).

Non-Essential Functions and Tasks :

  • Assist with front-end duties as necessary.
  • Assist in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
