The Opportunity

The Newstead Residences is a luxury retirement living community in the heart of Newstead, Brisbane. Working closely with the Chef Manager and fellow team members, you'll support the daily kitchen operations, working in our new kitchen to deliver gold-standard meals to our residents. As a hands-on Chef, you'll have experience in volume catering (such as working at RSLs, retirement villages, aged care, function spaces or cafes). Most importantly, you'll have a passion for food and delivering a gold standard of service

This is a casual position assisting our team with covering leave. Most shifts will be 10-6.30pm across Monday to Sunday. No late nights

You will:

• Prepare, cook, present and deliver meals with high attention to detail
• Monitor food safety plans and ensure the kitchen is adhering to all OH&S standards
• Assist with stock rotation andstocktake.
• Manage the maintenance and cleanliness of kitchen equipment
• Work with fellow Food & Beverage or Cook/Chef staff to ensure smooth operations

What you'll bring

• Experience as a Cook or Chef in catering/kitchen settings such as cafes, bistros, RSLs or corporate kitchens
• Certificate III in CommericalCookery (required)
• A friendly and warm persona with a passion forfood and great team work
• Current Police check (required, but we can complete for you)
• Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 Vaccinations (required)

• $37.42 including 25% casual loading ($29.94 base rate) + superannuation + relevant award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances
