Job Description

Provide support to learners and teachers by undertaking a range of non-teaching duties, including classroom administration and practical tasks such as contributing to the preparation of teaching materials. The aim is to assist with the promotion, delivery, and integration of key objectives outlined in the Education Service Plan and the Community Plan.

Requirements

The duties involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member or have an existing PVG Scheme Record Update before a formal employment offer is made by East Ayrshire Council.

PVG records are regularly updated. Any relevant information disclosed will be discussed with the applicant prior to employment.

Responsibilities

The Individual

This is a permanent, part-time, term-time position based at Willowbank School, Kilmarnock.

Working hours are 13.5 hours per week, scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Willowbank School caters to pupils with severe, complex, and profound additional support needs. Experience working with children with Additional Support Needs is advantageous.

The full-time salary ranges from £24,333 to £25,353 per annum. The part-time, term-time salary is between £8,050 and £8,387 per annum.
