Are you an experienced Clinical Midwife seeking an exciting opportunity to manage and coordinate evidence-based midwifery care within a dynamic healthcare environment? If so, then we invite you to join our dedicated team at Bunbury Hospital.

This is a Recruitment Pool for suitably qualified Clinical Midwives covering:

  • Permanent - Full Time, Permanent - Part Time, Fixed Term - Full Time, and Fixed Term - Part Time appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

The Following Should Be Noted

  • The panel will monitor this recruitment pool for applications and will assess on a regular basis.
  • Interviews may not be conducted as part of the process; however applicants may be contacted to provide additional information.
  • Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur.
  • Appointments may be made from this pool until 27/02/2026.

Position Overview: In this pivotal role, you will utilise your advanced midwifery skills and leadership capabilities to provide outstanding clinical supervision, ensuring the highest standards of woman-centred care across the continuum. Your responsibilities will include operational management of the unit, as well as providing advice and guidance on clinical standards in collaboration with senior staff.

Ideal Candidate

  • Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and experience in evidence-based midwifery care.
  • Ability to function effectively as both a team leader and team member in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a strong capability in negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge of quality and risk management principles as they apply to clinical practice.
  • familiar with legislative obligations relevant to healthcare service delivery in Australia.
  • Proficient in using computer systems for reporting and documentation purposes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced, evidence-based midwifery care in alignment with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia Decision-Making Framework.
  • Lead and support a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional, consumer-focused maternity care.
  • Maintain a safe environment by overseeing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care practices.
  • Facilitate professional development and training opportunities for midwives and nursing staff to enhance their competencies.
  • Actively engage in quality improvement and research initiatives to elevate the standards of care within the unit.
