The South Pacific Division (SPD) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is the administrative head office for the church in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and most of the South Pacific Island nations. The focus of this office as a Christian organisation is to be a catalyst for a disciple-making movement that enables people to follow Jesus Christ and serve the community.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church (SPD) Limited is seeking an experienced ministry leader to coordinate the implementation of the overall Children's Ministries and Women's Ministries strategy for the South Pacific Division. This full-time role will collaborate with relevant stakeholders across Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and the pacific island nations to promote and facilitate:

  • pastoral care of women and children;
  • spiritual development of children ages birth to 14; and
  • develop and utilise the spiritual gifts of Adventist women in the pursuit of the mission of the church.

As the Director of Children's and Women's Ministries, you will be an information and organisation professional excelling in the areas of cross-cultural communication, influencing, networking, as well as formulating strategies and applying expertise in the areas of children and women. As part of the Ministry and Strategy team at the South Pacific Division head office, this role will be based at the head office in Sydney, Australia.

Selection Criteria
  • Must be a practising baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to the Church and its mission.
  • Tertiary qualifications in theology, education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in ministries, specialising in children and/or women.
  • Comprehensive background in the nurture and discipling of children and commitment to pastoral care of women.
  • Strategic thinker with experience planning and implementing ministry initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication abilities, with effective presentation skills.
  • Passion for evangelism, discipleship and the empowerment of women and children.
  • Current working with children check clearance for the relevant jurisdiction.
