Located at the South Melbourne Market, Smithburg is a casual All-Day-Diner that makes the most of fresh market produce and the creativity of our chefs. Our food is incredible, led by our signature burgers, lobster rolls, pancakes, and margaritas. Our focus is casual American-Diner food served with cocktails and a good time.

Strap yourself in, because this is going to be a fun ride. The market is busy, and we need hospitality professionals to ensure our customers are looked after, orders are efficiently managed, and drinks flow from the bar. Extra points for those who love to curate the soundtrack to a good time.

Qualifications & experience

  • A minimum of 2 years in a management role within a fast-paced restaurant
  • Additional experience in working in fast-paced bar environments is highly regarded
  • RSA certification

  • Bring a positive, fun, and energetic vibe every day
  • Develop our front of house team into first-class hospitality professionals
  • Lead the Front of House team on shift to deliver outstanding customer service and vibe
  • Make guests feel welcome and relaxed in a bustling environment
  • Be an advocate for Smithburg and its values
  • Hiring and performance management
  • Ordering, stocktaking, and rostering
  • Opening, closing, and EOD/EOW duties
  • Work in a fun team with friendly colleagues
  • Be a key team member in a new, exciting, high-profile restaurant
