The Role

External Sales Representative (Process Valves) — Melbourne Process Equipment team. Reporting to the Products Manager, this client-focused role develops and executes call plans, builds branch sales, and drives the development of Process Valves within Kempe Engineering Melbourne. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining key client relationships, delivering excellent customer service, and achieving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage customers and identify new opportunities
  • General administration including client specific portals
  • Quotations: acknowledge, generate and follow up
  • Sales orders: generate, acknowledge and expedite
  • Purchase orders: generate and expedite
  • Meet or exceed DIFOT and KPI targets
  • Specialise in technical valve sales, providing customers with information to promote product sales, services, repairs and related offerings across Kempe Engineering products and services
  • Develop customer action and call plans to achieve branch sales
  • Implement call plans and cycles to build customer relationships, identify growth opportunities and achieve sales and business goals
  • Complete customer call reports and provide management with feedback on key customer activities and opportunities
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar external sales role
  • Proactive safety focus
  • Sound understanding of process valves, equipment components and applications
  • Mechanically minded
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers
  • Personable and able to work with others
  • Customer service oriented
  • Demonstrated track record of sales growth with existing and new products, markets and customers
  • Ability to solve technical problems and offer technical solutions
  • Strong communication, organizational and teamwork skills with ability to prioritise and manage time
  • Willing to learn and explore new products and markets
  • Australian Driver's license
  • Ability to pass full medical
