Position Summary

SQE are looking for an experienced community engagement professional with a strong background in stakeholder relations and infrastructure project delivery. The role is a 12-month fixed term contract, based in the Newcastle Office.

Reporting to the Head of Stakeholder Engagement and Community Relations, the Senior Community Relations Advisor is responsible for overseeing community relations activities across the company.The role supports building, maintaining and strengthening relationships with the broader community during delivery and operations.

The Senior Community Relations Advisor supports community relations advisers and Operations Managers in ensuring the effective implementation of community relations campaigns and strategies that enhance the company's reputation and social licence to operate. This role will/may involve travel to other office locations and sites to engage and liaise with broader Squadron Energy (SQE) teams and relevant stakeholders.

  • Coordinate community events
  • Monitor and report activities, trends and insights
About You

You bring:
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in relevant fields.
  • An understanding and demonstrated experience in the stakeholder and community engagement requirements in an infrastructure environment, with a focus on development projects.
  • Experience supporting Project teams in successful stakeholder engagement during the delivery and operation of major infrastructure projects in highly regulated industries is desirable.
  • A track record in building or supporting strategic, effective, and high-quality community engagement programmes through externally conditioned approval processes.
  • Some experience managing events.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage complex internal and external relationships in a fast moving environment.
  • An eye for quality and attention to detail with excellent organisational and time management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes.
  • Ability to maintain effective and collaborative relationships across diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience using Consultation Manager or similar CRM software highly regarded.
  • Computer literacy and strong competence with the Microsoft 365 suite of software.
  • Qualifications or significant experience in Communications or Community Engagement.
  • Current driver's licence
